Rafael graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Mexico. Right at the start of his degree, Rafael got captured by the world of equine medicine and behaviour. He completed his Veterinary degree in 2016, graduated with honours.
After working as a diagnostic imaging teaching assistant for a couple of years at the UNAM, he completed a two-year rotating internship in large animal medicine (surgery and emergency services) at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Canada.
His main interests are internal medicine, sports medicine, and diagnostic imaging.
In his free time, Dr. Carballo enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and practicing yoga.
